Lord Lieutenant's Cadet Appointed

Sixteen-year-old Catherine Hobart, a Dollar Academy boarder whose home is in Crinan, Argyll, is pictured here being congratulated by the Lord Lieutenant of Clackmannanshire, Mrs Sheena Cruickshank, on her appointment as Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for the coming year. Catherine, a sergeant in the school’s Combined Cadet Force, will accompany the Lord Lieutenant on official engagements such as Armistice Sunday or any royal visits. Catherine, a member of this year’s large Dollar Sixth Form, intends to study English at university. During the past year she has been busy attending a Band Course at HMS Raleigh, taking part in the Military Skills Competition and assisting the Academy’s First Aid team to victory at the British Nationals at Sandhurst.
