Dollar Academy CCF retained the trophy for winning the Scottish Military Skills Competition which had seven schools competing. Mr John Robertson had been invited as Rector of last year’s winning school to present the trophy which he thus did with great enthusiasm.
The main photograph shows the winning team with the trophy and the Rector, in civilian clothes, along with Contingent SSI, CPO Tillier (without the hat), Captain Mark Scott and RSM Tracey Scott. Much of the team’s success was due to the training programme organised by these three adult members of the Contingent.
The competition involved two days of thirteen gruelling tests of military knowledge and skills in the wild environment of the Garelochhead training area.
