Junior Assemblies
Class assemblies are a regular feature of the Prep and Junior School. The accompanying photos show J2H enacting their Christmas theme and the children of J1N who presented an assembly on the theme of ‘Mottoes’. Prior to the annual Burns Competition, one Junior School assembly took the form of a Burns Supper. Mrs. Gini Currie, class teacher of J2C, led the proceedings, explaining the various elements of a Supper as members of staff enjoyed an imaginary meal set out around a table in front of the assembled gathering. Angus Robertson piped in the haggis, carried forward by Beth Hamilton and Abbie Murray, and Scott Gillen poured the ‘drink’! Interspersed throughout the proceedings were Burns recitations by a representative of each class with Alix Brewster, the eventual winner of the Burns Competition the following week, addressing the haggis at the appropriate moment.
