Hallowe'en Party

Blood curdling! Wolves howled, witches cackled and vampires bit. The terrifying effect was slightly depleted by the disco music pulsing through the Dining Room. Every horrifying soul who arrived was photographed before swaggering onto the dance floor. First, there was a competition to see who had the best costume. The First Prize went to ‘Soapy Bubbles’ (Beth Hamilton) and the runners up were Ali G (Brad Crosbie) and Willy Wonka (Abbie Murray). After that everyone was divided into teams and moved off to try varying activities. Some groups had to grasp a fork between their teeth and drop it so that it impacted and stuck into an apple. However, other bands of people were carted off to another part of the room to try and eat donuts dangling from strings without using their hands! The final game was to roll a die and if you got a 6 you had to put on a hat, scarf and gloves then use a knife and fork to eat the chocolate. A great evening was had by all!

What a party! The games were great and the pumpkins were amazing. Everybody had put all their effort into the costumes. Soapy Bubbles (Beth Hamilton), Ali G (Brad Crosbie) and Willy Wonka (Abbie Murray) all won prizes.

The Charities Committee had worked hard preparing and then running the games. We enjoyed them all. Favourite for most was the chocolate game but I enjoyed ducking for apples even though I got splashed.

After the games and prizes, the music started. I didn’t see one person who was not dancing. The Charities Committee worked together to make this a great evening. It was terrific and all their hard work paid off. What a party!
