Primary Maths Challenge

Once again this year, in November, one third of Junior Two took part in this ‘competition’ and we are pleased to announce the following achievements:

Gold Certificates: Calum Macdonald and Rory Weir
Silver Certificates: Jack Keely, Callum Macfarlane and Julian Camilleri-Brennan
Bronze Certificates: Hannah Bowers, Adam Shannon, Fiona MacIsaac, Anna George, Cameron Fisken, Louis Stewart and Areeb Arshad
Certificates of Participation: Jamie Seed, Brodie Hunter, Lindsay Duff, Adam Gilbert, Kirsty McAloon, Chloe Nicholls, Calum Cameron, Alix Brewster, Ralph Watson, Duncan Tait, Kitty Anderson, Katie Adam, Katie Ross, Sidhant Seth, Max Cumming, Catriona Thomson, Emily Deans, Matthew Mills and Evan Wright.

The first 10 of the above list were selected to take part in the PMC Finals in February, the largest number of finalists we have had since we first entered this competition. We are currently waiting for the results to be posted on the PMC website in March.

Finals Results (March 2007)

All 10 of our finalists performed most commendably. Calum Macdonald and Rory Weir, however, achieved sufficient marks to receive Bronze Awards (see photo, above left). We offer our congratulations to these two mathematicians in particular.
