Success at the Glasgow Music Festival

Earlier in the year, sisters Bethan and Rose Scott (J1M and P1F), participated in the Glasgow Music Festival held in the Lesser Hall. They are pictured here proudly displaying their certificates. Rose came second in the ‘vocal solos’ 7 and under category with her rendition of ‘The Kangaroo Song’ and Bethan was the winner in the ‘Write your own poem’ 9-11 years category with her poem entitled ‘Moonlight in the Skies’. Well done to both of them!

Moonlight in the Skies
The moonlight beamed in the skies,
Bouncing off windows,
Crashing into the ground
And shooting back off towards a tree.
Glowing above cities,
Shining above towns,
It travelled through Britain,
Beaming across the Atlantic Ocean
It battled with the darkness.
Ricocheting into America
And harassing the sleeping citizens,
It played with the wind,
Speeding around,
Then shone into the territory
Of the Pacific Ocean.
Blasting through the waves
It reached Russia,
Blinding the people having a late night.
Finally glowing over Europe,
It bounced back into Britain
And brightly settled over my town,
Causing me to wake up!
Ah well.
