The 2007 Senior School Musical is Thoroughly Modern Millie. 1967 saw the play exploding on to cinema screens worldwide. Stenographers instantly became flappers, the Charleston once again became the dance, and the foot-tapping rhythms of 1920’s New York filled the airwaves.
Taking place in New York city in 1922, Thoroughly Modern Millie tells the story of young Millie Dillmount who has just moved to the city in search of a new life. It’s a New York full of intrigue and jazz and a time when women were entering the workforce – a time when the rules of love and social behaviour were changing forever.
