Prep 5 Filmed During Environmental Studies Lesson
Mrs Marjorie Smith of the Bio-technology Department at Dollar Academy has been developing teaching materials for schools over the past few years and Prep 5 pupils have been involved in the design and trialling of the materials. One of her publishers, The Astra Zeneca Science Teaching Trust, has been preparing more web based resources so that teachers can see the materials in action. Prep 5T were asked if they could be filmed participating in one of the lessons. On Tuesday 22nd May, the director and cameraman came into the Environmental Studies lesson to record the children discussing environmental issues and completing some activities.
The pupils found it a challenging, but very interesting, experience and they really had to think hard about ways to express their ideas about “Plant Matters” clearly and fully. At the end of the morning, we turned the camera on Nick and Michaela and caught them filming some activities.
