Prep 2 Learn About Japan
Prep 2 have been learning about Japan. We celebrated Kodomo-no-hi which is Children’s Day on 5 th May. In Japan bright colourful carp streamers called koinobori are hung from tall bamboo poles outside houses which have children. One koinobori is flown for each son, the shortest for the youngest son and the longest for eldest son. You can tell how many boys are in the family by counting the koinobori flying outside their houses on Kodomo-no-hi. We had great fun designing, making and flying our koinobori on the Prep School grass.
