Early in October Form I pupils in their Home Economics lessons were entertained and educated by the Falkirk-based Foodlab who asked their audiences three questions: What is junk food? Is it all bad? What’s in what we eat?
The visiting chef with the help of volunteers demonstrated how easy it was to create fast food that would help people achieve their dietary targets. The finished products – healthy pizzas – were sampled by all.
Home Economics teacher Mrs Anne Kean emphasised that Form I pupils are at an age where they can begin to take control and make informed decisions about their own diets.
Pictures show the difference between “a dodgy burger” and “a yummy pizza”.
