Two pupils from the Academy gained national honours when they represented Scotland in the Under 18’s Independent Schools Football team against a team from England recently – Robbie Hay and Johnny Mallet.
The game was played at Altrincham Football Club with Johnny being voted the best player on the Scottish side. Playing left midfield he also scored his team's only goal from a penalty that was awarded late in the game.
Robbie also made a significant contribution when he came on at half time playing at centre forward, creating a number of good chances for the team.
International caps were awarded after the game and presented by David Riley, the 2007 FA Cup final referee and David Elleray, the well known retired ref.
